Job description
Role Overview
Foxdale Village, a life plan community shaped by Quaker principles and based in State College, Pennsylvania, is hiring a Director of Information Technology. This person will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be an active part of the management team, contributing within a collaborative, team-oriented decision-making culture.
What You'll Do
- Take independent responsibility for the daily operation of networks, IT systems, and telecommunications.
- Keep cybersecurity practices aligned with current regulatory expectations and risk controls.
- Partner with organizational leaders to make sure hardware and software tools meet each department’s needs.
- Own the creation, updating, and rollout of the information systems strategic plan.
- Plan ahead for growth and expansion so the organization’s network environment remains suitable for future needs.
- Train staff on the basic use of common computer applications.
- Oversee all IT team members and their work.
- Evaluate and recommend external IT support partners when additional help is needed to sustain a 24-hour operation.
- Conduct regular technology risk reviews and use the findings to build programs that reduce IT exposure and liability.
- Work with compliance and risk leadership to develop programs that address HIPAA, disaster recovery, and fraud prevention requirements.
- Act as the organization’s HIPAA security officer.
- Manage support for audio-visual and communication systems used by residents and staff.
- Handle additional duties assigned by the CFO.

It includes 205 residential cottages and apartments, plus health services for 46 skilled nursing residents, including a memory care neighborhood, and 55 private personal care residences.
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a closely related discipline is required; a graduate degree is considered an advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in an IT setting, including network installation, maintenance, and user support, with healthcare experience preferred.
- Applicants should show a strong commitment to serving older adults.
- Demonstrated leadership ability is important.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.
