Opportunity Overview
St. Michael's House invites applications for the position of Director of Human Resources and Organisation Development. This leadership role offers a chance to join the executive management team of one of Dublin's largest providers of health, social care, education, and training services for people with intellectual disabilities. The role focuses on delivering professional and responsive HR services aligned with the organisation’s progressive, individual-centred, and rights-based community service vision.
Key Responsibilities
The Director of HR and OD will oversee the strategic and operational delivery of HR functions, ensuring services are customer-focused and efficient. The position entails developing and implementing policies, procedures, and management information systems to support organisational objectives. Leadership includes fostering effective governance, structures, and practices that attract, develop, engage, and motivate employees throughout the organisation.
Candidate Profile & Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a proven record at a senior HR management level, with a history of successful organisational change and innovative HR strategy implementation in complex environments. Candidates should hold a degree in Human Resources or a related field and demonstrate a minimum of four years’ senior HR management experience, including managing HR teams. Experience within public sector organisations and possession of a postgraduate HR qualification are advantageous.
Terms and Conditions
- Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
- Location: Head Office, Ballymun Road, Dublin 9
- Salary Scale: General Manager Grade, €87,471 to €108,804 annually (effective June 2026). Entry point adjusted for prior public sector experience.
- Hybrid/Blended working eligibility post-probation period.
- Structured interview rounds with dates scheduled for 4th and 10th September 2026.
