Job description
Role Overview
KemperSports is hiring a Director of HR focused on learning, leadership development, organizational effectiveness, and talent strategy. This in-office role will work closely with the Executive Vice President of Human Resources to shape and carry out enterprise-wide people programs that support growth, culture, and performance.
Core Responsibilities
- Work with the EVP of Human Resources to define and implement the company’s approach to learning, leadership development, talent management, and organizational effectiveness.
- Build onboarding and development programs for field and corporate teams across leadership, technical, functional, compliance, and professional learning using classroom-based, virtual, e-learning, and self-directed formats.
- Create enterprise learning paths, competency frameworks, career pathways, and development models, and track impact through business results and performance measures.
- Own and advance programs that improve culture, engagement, inclusion, collaboration, and overall organizational performance.
- Set up and manage talent management processes such as succession planning, leadership pipeline growth, career pathing, talent reviews, workforce planning, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs).
- Partner with HR Business Partners and business leaders to identify capability gaps and deploy targeted development and talent solutions.
- Improve HR processes, templates, workflows, SOPs, and operational practices to increase consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
- Manage project execution for enterprise HR technology efforts, including HRIS, Learning Management Systems (LMS), performance management, talent management, and other strategic implementations.
- Lead change management efforts by developing rollout plans, communications, stakeholder engagement, and adoption strategies for business and technology changes.
- Support leaders in strengthening organizational design, leadership effectiveness, employee development, and a high-performing, inclusive workplace.
- Define and monitor KPIs and dashboards to measure learning impact, engagement, talent growth, succession readiness, leadership bench strength, and overall organizational health.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Education, Psychology, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
- At least 2 years of experience with major responsibility in learning and development, organizational effectiveness, and/or talent management.
- Experience working in an organization with a large non-exempt workforce, ideally in a matrixed business with multiple locations.
Skills and Competencies
- Energetic, relationship-oriented approach with the ability to stay effective in fast-changing environments.
- Proven track record in leadership development, succession planning, organizational change, and HR transformation.
- Hands-on experience with HR technology rollouts and large cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of instructional design, adult learning, organizational development, and talent management.
- Excellent executive-level communication, facilitation, coaching, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to influence senior leaders and deliver outcomes in a collaborative setting.
- Strong strategic thinking, analytical ability, organization, and project management skills.
Compensation and Benefits
The position offers a salary range of $110,000 to $130,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. It is a full-time, salaried, exempt role.
