Role overview
This leadership position is accountable for shaping and delivering the organization’s worldwide distribution approach. The role focuses on keeping international warehousing, transport, and partner-led logistics running smoothly so products reach the right markets efficiently, economically, and on time.
Core responsibilities
- Set the direction for the global distribution network and ensure it supports broader business and supply chain priorities.
- Direct global logistics partners, 3PL vendors, and regional distribution teams while maintaining strong standards for service and accountability.
- Oversee warehousing, shipping, inventory movement, and delivery outcomes across several countries.
- Improve the distribution network by redesigning processes, managing partner changes, and driving operational efficiency.
- Create and maintain dashboards, performance indicators, and governance cadences to monitor service, cost, compliance, and execution.
- Work closely with Procurement, Finance, Operations, Technology, and regional business stakeholders to solve issues and strengthen delivery.
- Champion transformation work such as automation, digital tools, and standardized processes.
- Maintain compliance, reduce operational risk, and uphold governance across global distribution activities.
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and executive-level reporting on distribution performance.
- Build capability within the global distribution organization and guide a high-performing team.
Profile and experience
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in global logistics, distribution operations, supply chain leadership, or strategic operations, with a strong record of managing third-party logistics relationships, governing distribution networks, and influencing stakeholders across regions. Success in complex multinational environments and the ability to lead change across functions are important. The role calls for a commercially minded, analytical leader who can balance service quality, cost control, and resilience.
Preferred background
A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related discipline is expected, and an MBA is often considered an advantage. Experience in retail, consumer goods, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, or technology distribution is commonly valued.
