Role Overview

The Director of Finance holds a pivotal leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial well-being and strategic direction of Twin Farms. This role entails managing all financial operations with precision and transparency, collaborating closely with the leadership team to support sustainable growth, capital planning, and informed operational decisions.

This position combines hands-on financial management with strategic foresight, supporting both routine and long-term objectives. The Director will work in partnership with the Accounting Manager and various department heads to enhance financial processes, improve performance visibility, and uphold operational efficiency and sustainability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage comprehensive accounting functions: general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain robust internal controls and transparent systems of checks and balances.
  • Coordinate all aspects of annual audits, tax compliance, and regulatory adherence.
  • Analyze financial results to identify trends and opportunities for enhancement.
  • Lead budgeting and financial forecasting cycles, developing models to aid both operational and strategic decisions.
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable financial insights to leadership and department heads.
  • Review and optimize cost structures to identify potential savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Partner with executives on long-term planning, capital investments, and corporate strategy.
  • Assist in overseeing construction, renovation, and capital projects by managing budgeting, cash flow, and ROI assessments.
  • Evaluate prospective business opportunities, partnerships, and operational initiatives.
  • Provide financial guidance regarding pricing strategies, labor management, and operational choices.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and strengthen relationships with banks and lenders to secure liquidity for operational and capital needs.
  • Supervise and support the Accounting Manager and their team, nurturing a culture of collaboration, accountability, and detail orientation within finance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, human resources, and department leaders to foster organizational financial awareness and responsibility.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; CPA or MBA credentials are advantageous.
  • 7 to 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in finance or accounting, preferably in hospitality or a comparable operational setting.
  • Proficient in financial reporting, budgeting, and maintaining internal controls.
  • Skilled in financial modeling, forecasting, and delivering strategic financial analysis.
  • Working knowledge of hotel or resort operations is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional accuracy, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to efficiently manage multiple priorities and adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Work Environment

  • The role requires on-site attendance approximately 2 to 3 days per week.
  • Fast-paced and hands-on, blending strategic oversight with operational involvement.
  • Close partnership with leadership and various department teams across the resort property.

  • Relocation and travel support for selected roles.
  • Daily meals provided for staff.
