Role summary
The Director of Facility Management will lead the engineering function and shape the technical roadmap for the property. The role calls for a balance of senior leadership and practical engineering know-how to ensure all work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Set the direction for facility management, engineering, and maintenance activities across the hotel, waterpark, and beach club.
- Build and run preventive and corrective maintenance plans that keep all buildings, systems, attractions, and infrastructure reliable, safe, and efficient.
- Guide cross-functional engineering and facilities teams while promoting high standards, ownership, and ongoing improvement.
- Make sure operations meet local laws, health and safety rules, environmental requirements, brand standards, and statutory inspection obligations.
- Prepare and control annual operating budgets and capital budgets, while supporting cost efficiency, sustainability, and energy-saving efforts.
- Direct the planning and delivery of capital works, refurbishments, and property upgrades with minimal impact on guest experience.
- Track facility performance indicators, maintenance KPIs, asset life planning, and service commitments.
- Respond promptly to maintenance issues, equipment failures, and operational incidents while protecting business continuity.
- Carry out facility inspections and risk reviews to identify improvement areas and keep assets maintained to a top standard.
- Lead sustainability programs, utility reduction initiatives, and environmental compliance efforts to improve efficiency and lower operating costs.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, Facilities Management, or a similar field is required; a master’s degree would be an added advantage.
- At least 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in engineering or facilities management, including 5 years in a senior leadership position within a luxury hotel, integrated resort, or waterpark.
- Solid understanding of hotel engineering systems, waterpark mechanical systems, water treatment, MEP services, life safety systems, and building automation systems.
- Proven background in strategic facilities management, asset oversight, capital planning, and project execution.
- Strong capability in budgeting, financial planning, procurement, and vendor or contractor management.
- Good knowledge of local building regulations, compliance requirements, occupational health and safety, and environmental standards.
- Effective leadership, team development, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage large multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, project management skills, and sound decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to work across multiple departments.
- Experience in luxury hospitality and large-scale leisure environments is highly preferred.
