Role Overview
The Director of Expansion is a contract position with remote work flexibility, accountable for steering the growth of Zaks & Co.’s portfolio businesses into new markets and segments. Daily responsibilities comprise pinpointing and assessing expansion prospects, performing comprehensive market and competitor analysis, and crafting expansion strategies anchored in data. This role involves managing collaboration across departments to implement go-to-market plans, assisting with the establishment of operational workflows in new locations, and monitoring key performance indicators to enhance expansion efforts. Additionally, the Director coordinates with executive leadership and stakeholders, manages project schedules, and ensures all expansion pursuits align with overarching investment and business goals.
Required Qualifications
- Expertise in business expansion and strategic planning to lead and refine growth initiatives.
- Strong analytical ability and proficiency in market research to assess opportunities and support informed decision-making.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams and coordinating stakeholders during growth projects.
- Track record in strategic growth, corporate development, or venture-building roles.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the aptitude to influence key decision-makers.
- Comfortable operating in a remote, contract-based role with substantial autonomy and responsibility.
- Educational background in finance, business, economics, or related disciplines; advanced degrees or equivalent practical experience are advantageous.
- Prior involvement in startup environments, investment firms, or asset management is highly preferred.
