Role Overview

The Director of Culinary Services position calls for an enthusiastic and skilled leader dedicated to elevating dining experiences through outstanding hospitality, leadership, and heartfelt engagement. This role focuses on providing residents with nutritious, flavorful meals in a comfortable and inviting setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the Culinary Department’s operations to uphold superior food quality, safety, and customer service standards.
  • Lead and mentor culinary staff by providing coaching, training, and managing their performance.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to enhance resident health and participation through dining initiatives.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations and corporate policies.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work outside typical hours in response to business demands.

Necessary Qualifications

  • Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational background.
  • Hold valid Food Safety Certification such as SERVSafe or its equivalent.
  • Preferably have an associate degree in culinary arts.
  • Show strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Accumulate at least five years of experience in food and hospitality management settings such as restaurants, country clubs, or senior living facilities.
  • Have a minimum of two years in supervisory roles involving team coaching, performance evaluation, and staff development.
  • Reliable transportation is required to maintain punctuality and attendance standards.
  • Exhibit commitment and skill in working with individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and similar dementias.
  • Experience in Independent and Assisted Living communities is desirable.

Additional Considerations

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends.
  • Role involves physical activity including walking, bending, and lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable around animals and persons with neurodegenerative conditions.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Annual salary ranges from $87,000 to $92,000 USD.
