Role Overview
The Director of Compliance Operations will play a pivotal role in evolving the compliance function from a reactive task to a strategic driver of growth and operational excellence across more than 15 states. Reporting to the VP of Trust & Safety, this position demands leadership of a team of compliance and operations experts, shaping strategy and managing daily operations. The role involves developing scalable compliance systems and working closely with Product and Engineering to implement tech-driven solutions ensuring operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish strategic goals for managing compliance related to employment law and home care licensing amid market expansion.
- Regularly evaluate compliance risks and identify ways to minimize operational inefficiencies.
- Handle daily compliance management across states, intervening in complex issues while creating enduring protocols.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering to automate compliance processes, creating justification for technical investments and overseeing solution rollouts.
- Manage state licensing audits comprehensively, recognizing gaps, managing remediation, and coordinating with internal and external teams.
- Ensure preparedness for launching in new regions and introducing service offerings.
- Interpret regulatory amendments into clear operational guidelines with legal support.
- Recruit, cultivate, and guide a team of 5–10 compliance and operations professionals, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Create and monitor compliance metrics and dashboards to provide leadership with insight on risks and operational effectiveness.

- Background in building scalable systems, processes, and teams in compliance or related functions.
- Advanced analytical aptitude with experience in data visualization and operational metric development.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, adept at simplifying complex regulatory topics.
- Preferred experience with employment law compliance, home care or healthcare regulations, and multi-state licensing.
Compensation & Benefits
The annual base salary for this role ranges from $176,400 to $196,000 USD, depending on individual qualifications and experience. Total compensation includes equity participation, 401K with up to 4% matching, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with no-cost plans for employees, fully employer-paid short-term and long-term disability and life insurance with optional additional coverage.
