About the Role
Temple University seeks an experienced leader to serve as Director of the Center City Campus & Partnerships. This role provides strategic and operational management of the Center City Campus situated in Philadelphia, ensuring it functions as a dynamic hub for academics, community engagement, professional development, and partnerships. The position includes overseeing campus operations, facilities management, scheduling, and program coordination to foster an accessible, innovative, and secure environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall management and advancement of the Center City Campus, supporting its role in academic and community activities.
- Oversee campus operations such as facilities coordination, space utilization, scheduling, and administration to facilitate academic programs, public events, and external partnerships.
- Direct the relocation project of the campus from 1515 Market Street to 211 S. Broad Street, aiming for a Fall 2027 opening.
- Develop and strengthen collaborative relationships with university leadership, deans, faculty, staff, and external organizations including arts, cultural, civic, nonprofit, government, and business sectors.
- Facilitate the planning and implementation of innovative programming, research, community projects, and events that align with university priorities.
- Manage budgets, resources, contracts, and revenue-generating strategies to ensure financial sustainability.
- Provide leadership, supervise staff, and cultivate a customer-focused service environment within a complex university setting.
- Navigate and balance multiple stakeholder interests to advance shared goals and institutional mission with creativity and flexibility.
- Be available to work outside typical hours including evenings, weekends, and early mornings as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in fields such as public administration, business, arts, higher education administration, nonprofit management, or related disciplines.
- Minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience managing operations, programs, facilities, or partnerships within higher education, nonprofit, cultural, corporate, civic, or similar complex environments.
- Proven experience leading major projects, organizational changes, or transitions.
- Preferred qualifications include at least eight years of relevant experience, especially within higher education or arts and cultural institutions, established sector relationships, and familiarity with campus or public-facing facility management.

- Expertise in developing and managing innovative programs, events, and community engagement initiatives.
- Ability to manage complex facilities operations, including scheduling, vendor coordination, and campus safety administration.

- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for internal and external representation.
- Commitment to high-quality customer service, responsiveness, and collaborative problem-solving.

- This role requires background checks, including criminal history review, child abuse clearance, FBI fingerprinting, and checks related to cash handling and personal information.
- An offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screening.
