Assistant Director, Youth Advocacy - Integrated Outreach East Division, Targeted Segment-Youth Department (2-Year Contract)

About the Role

Contribute to the Health Promotion Board's mission of enhancing public health in Singapore by leading youth-focused health initiatives. As Assistant Director of Youth Advocacy, you will design and implement transformative health promotion strategies aimed at youths aged 17-25, fostering sustainable behavioural changes via innovative partnerships between higher education institutes and community organisations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, testing, and scaling of comprehensive youth health promotion strategies across campuses and communities to encourage lasting behavioural improvements.
• Create robust account management frameworks for key collaborators and forge strategic relationships with community groups, educational institutions, and youth networks.
• Translate insights from youth and stakeholders into persuasive narratives that influence both internal and external decision-makers to advance youth health priorities.
• Introduce innovative approaches addressing youth health challenges, especially during critical developmental phases where lifelong habits are formed across educational and community environments.
• Design and implement pioneering pilot projects integrating health promotion across campus and community settings for maximum impact.
• Manage end-to-end program execution across multiple platforms, ensuring high quality service and continuous enhancement.
• Establish and maintain high-value partnerships with government agencies, educational bodies, community partners, and youth organisations to bolster collaborative health promotion efforts.
• Lead cross-functional teams incorporating community partners, government reps, faculty members, and health specialists to co-develop impactful health initiatives and policies.
• Act as the strategic liaison for the Health Promotion Board within education, community, and civic sectors to fast-track youth health advancement.
• Oversee innovative data collection and analysis methods to evaluate youth participation and impact using existing platforms and stakeholder inputs for evidence-based decisions.
• Optimize partnership strategies and initiative development to enhance effectiveness across diverse environments.
• Plan, monitor, and manage team budgets, KPIs, and manpower resources to exceed targets.
• Lead capability building projects aimed at enhancing partner performance and sustainability.
• Drive strategic community engagement initiatives to extend program reach and foster community ownership.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum six years’ experience in public service showing progressive leadership and tangible impact.
• At least two years in leadership positions managing teams and complex cross-sector projects, preferably within Public Health, Business Administration, Social Work, Community Development, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Relevant qualifications in public policy, health promotion, community or organisational development are advantageous.
