Role Summary

The Director of Business Strategy is responsible for charting and overseeing the strategic direction of the organization and its portfolio. Operating remotely, this role partners with senior leadership and multiple teams to develop comprehensive business strategies, assess markets, and formulate strategic roadmaps that enable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead formulation and implementation of business plans in partnership with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct in-depth market research and portfolio performance analysis to drive company and investment strategies.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize new business, investment, and partnership opportunities.
• Transform complex financial and operational data into actionable recommendations and high-impact presentations for executive stakeholders.
• Advise portfolio companies on strategic objectives and align them with tangible, quantifiable goals.
• Continuously enhance planning, forecasting, and performance monitoring frameworks to ensure delivery on strategic plans.
• Facilitate effective communication across all levels, providing insights backed by rigorous analysis to support decision-making.

Candidate Qualifications

• Extensive experience in strategic planning, business growth, or transformation initiatives.
• Proficiency in advanced data analysis and business modeling, leading to clear, operational insights.
• Strong financial expertise, including modeling, valuation, budgeting, and performance measurement, especially within investment or corporate contexts.
• Hands-on background in consulting (either management consulting or in-house strategy roles) and ability to advise a variety of stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a closely related field. An MBA or similar advanced degree is considered a strong asset.
• Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex concepts succinctly to senior leaders.
• Proven record of managing multiple projects independently in a remote, deadline-driven environment.
• Prior experience in private equity, venture capital, high-growth firms, or relevant investment domains is advantageous.
• Demonstrated skills in market and competitor analysis.
