Role Overview
Reporting directly to the President & CEO, the Director, Marketing, serves as the strategic leader overseeing MedicAlert's marketing initiatives, driving the organization's mission, strategic objectives, revenue growth, and brand integrity. This role is responsible for crafting and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance subscriber acquisition and retention, support the NAVIVA product, facilitate partnerships, increase public awareness, and advance organizational growth targets. Additionally, the Director may collaborate with the philanthropy team providing strategic marketing guidance as needed.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and manage integrated marketing strategies aligned with company goals and revenue aims.
- Plan and execute annual, quarterly, and campaign initiatives focused on subscriber acquisition, renewals, product promotion, partnerships, and awareness campaigns.
- Set marketing priorities, performance benchmarks, campaign timelines, and reporting schedules.
- Provide counsel to the President & CEO on marketing outcomes, investment decisions, risks, and expansion opportunities.
- Contribute to organizational planning, forecasting, and collaborative decision-making processes.
- Lead multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital advertising, email marketing, CRM, content creation, landing pages, partnerships, and direct response methods.
- Ensure campaigns have well-defined target audiences, quantifiable goals, operational readiness, and clear success metrics.
- Utilize data and customer insights to optimize acquiring new subscribers, conversions, renewals, retention, and return on marketing investments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Customer Care, Operations, Product, Finance, and Technology, to enhance lead management, customer journeys, and revenue outcomes.
- Document campaign learnings and integrate them into future strategic planning.
- Provide strategic oversight for product marketing efforts like NAVIVA ensuring messaging is accurate, customer-focused, operationally feasible, and internally reviewed.
- Maintain consistent application of MedicAlert's brand identity and messaging across all marketing channels.
- Oversee content strategy, creative development, marketing materials, and campaigns emphasizing plain language, evidence-based information, and building trust.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team by establishing roles, accountability, priorities, and performance expectations.
- Implement effective team operating rhythms, including campaign planning, performance assessments, issue management, and post-campaign evaluations.
- Manage marketing operations such as campaign approvals, CRM coordination, lead tracking, budgeting, vendor management, and continuous process enhancements.
- Enforce discipline regarding campaign governance, data integrity, performance reporting, and execution standards.
- Develop strong cooperative relationships across departments including Product, Customer Care, Operations, Technology, Finance, Fundraising, and Programs.
- Ensure marketing plans are aligned with operational readiness, customer insights, privacy and regulatory requirements, company priorities, and risk management.
- Support readiness for cross-functional campaign launches impacting customer experience and operations.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of MedicAlert’s products, services, audience segments, and strategic goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related fields; alternative equivalent experience considered.
- 7 to 10 years of advancing leadership roles in marketing, ideally within subscription, membership, healthcare, social impact, or direct-to-consumer sectors.
- Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing strategies delivering measurable business growth.
- Strong expertise in digital marketing, CRM, marketing automation, paid media, email marketing, customer journey optimization, analytics, and performance measurement.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, agencies, vendors, and cross-functional projects.
- Exceptional analytical, financial, project management, and organizational capabilities, with the talent to transform business objectives into effective marketing plans.
- Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.
- Hands-on experience with HubSpot or similar CRM and marketing automation systems is mandatory.
- Background in healthcare, emergency response, aging services, charitable organizations, membership, or social impact sectors is a plus.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and French is advantageous.

- Estimated base salary range between $120,000 and $135,000 annually.
