Director – Investments, Strategy & Commercial

Role Overview

This senior commercial leadership position sits within a group environment and works closely with the CEO, CFO, and Strategic Advisor. The role is responsible for shaping commercial direction, supporting financial planning, managing capital matters, engaging with investors, and contributing to board-level decisions across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Guide major strategic initiatives, including transactions, partnerships, and capital-raising activity from a commercial standpoint.
• Work alongside the CFO on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow projections, and broader financial planning.
• Own communication with investors and analysts, along with market-facing updates and capital markets engagement.
• Draft board documents, business cases, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership review.
• Track commercial outcomes, identify risks, and assess market developments and growth opportunities.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Economics, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 12 years of experience in corporate finance, investment banking, corporate strategy, or other senior commercial leadership roles.
• Demonstrated background in the mining/resources sector and capital markets.
• Strong capability in financial modelling, strategic evaluation, and senior stakeholder management.

Location and Working Arrangement

The position is based in Brisbane or Sydney and involves regular travel, including trips to Papua New Guinea. Hybrid working arrangements are also available.
