Job description
The team
The Developer Enablement group sits within the CTO organisation and exists to help engineering teams move from business ideas to innovative products with less friction. The function focuses on improving tools, simplifying delivery processes, automating and reinforcing controls, and supporting teams in adopting modern ways of working.
The opportunity
This role is for a senior technology leader who will lead GenAI engineering within Developer Enablement. The Director will set direction across several teams, guide the GenAI roadmap, and bring advanced GenAI practices into enterprise software delivery. The position combines strategic leadership with enough technical depth to steer teams toward secure, compliant, and scalable GenAI outcomes.
Rather than owning individual feature delivery, the role is accountable for broader organisational results. It involves turning GenAI research into enterprise-grade platforms and capabilities, and guiding the move from experimentation into controlled production use across the business.
The Director will also shape the engineering strategy and roadmap, contribute to product vision, and balance innovation with regulatory expectations, risk management, and cost discipline. Close partnership with Product, Architecture, Risk, Security, Legal, and Data teams is a core part of the role.
The current technology landscape includes Python, Go, TypeScript, React, OpenShift, Mongo, and a fast-changing GenAI ecosystem. The role includes influencing architecture, platform direction, standards, and strategic technical decisions, while still being close enough to implementation to make informed choices.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop multiple engineering teams, including accountability for hiring, performance management, career growth, and team structure.
- Set the operating model for engineering, covering team design, collaboration approaches, and delivery methods that can scale.
- Deliver regular reporting to senior technology and business leaders on progress, risks, and investment priorities.
- Guide the development of GenAI applications and platforms, ensuring common patterns across prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, agent-based workflows, and integration layers.
- Provide architectural oversight for end-to-end LLM solutions with a focus on reliability, quality, and scale.
- Own the frameworks used to evaluate, monitor, and control GenAI solutions, including safety, bias, performance, and audit readiness.
- Serve as a senior owner for GenAI governance and ensure alignment with internal policies, regulations, and control requirements.
- Make sure change is introduced with the right documentation, approvals, and operational readiness, including permit-to-operate and disaster recovery expectations where relevant.
- Promote adoption of GenAI standards, platforms, and best practices across the organisation in partnership with Product, Risk, Security, Legal, and Data teams.
- Advise senior stakeholders on opportunities, risks, and trade-offs related to GenAI adoption.
What they are looking for
- A strong problem-solver who can identify issues and drive practical solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration ability.
- A self-driven professional who can work well both in teams and remotely.
- A pragmatic leader with a director-level approach to risk, balancing innovation with protection of the firm, clients, and reputation.
- A visible advocate for inclusion and diversity.
- A growth mindset and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment.
- Someone who builds trust through empathy and shows genuine enthusiasm.
Experience and background
- Substantial leadership experience running large engineering organisations at Director level or an equivalent senior role, with responsibility for strategy, delivery, and governance.
- Strong command of several programming languages, ideally including Python, Go, and TypeScript, along with related frameworks and tools.
- Deep experience deploying GenAI and LLM systems in regulated enterprise environments, including evaluation, guardrails, monitoring, and compliance.
- Background in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, containerised microservices, distributed logging, SQL and NoSQL databases, and DevSecOps.
- Experience in a product-oriented environment is an advantage compared with a purely project-based setup.
Work model and compensation
This position is based in Dublin and offers a business-casual environment with a hybrid arrangement of up to 2 days working from home each week. A competitive base salary is offered and reviewed annually.

This is an existing vacancy. The employer is an equal opportunity provider and gives consideration to qualified applicants regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
