Role overview

An organisation in Listowel, County Kerry is hiring a senior Head of Information Technology to steer secure, dependable, and business-aligned IT services. This permanent, full-time position blends strategic planning, day-to-day operational oversight, and technology change leadership so the IT function actively supports wider business objectives and ongoing improvement.

Key responsibilities

  • Shape and execute the IT roadmap so technology spending and initiatives support business priorities.
  • Oversee third-party IT suppliers, making sure contractual obligations, service levels, KPIs, and quality expectations are met.
  • Direct IT capital work such as office fit-outs, infrastructure enhancements, and equipment refresh programmes, keeping delivery within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Own the rollout, refinement, and governance of ServiceNow and broader IT service management processes.
  • Lead and develop field technicians and support personnel to deliver effective service locally and across the country.
  • Track technology service performance and push continuous improvements in operations.
  • Manage incidents, root-cause analysis, and change activity.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to define requirements and introduce practical technology solutions.
  • Take responsibility for budgets, purchasing, vendor partnerships, and technology-related contracts.
  • Maintain strong standards for cybersecurity, risk control, compliance, and business continuity.
  • Deliver infrastructure, software, and digital transformation programmes.
  • Coach team members and foster a culture built on ownership, service excellence, and professional growth.

Essential requirements

  • A bachelor’s qualification in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • 8 to 10 years of IT background, with 3 to 5 years spent in a senior leadership capacity.
  • Hands-on experience managing outsourced IT providers and enterprise service management platforms such as ServiceNow.
  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL and service management methodologies.
  • Exposure to cloud environments, cybersecurity, enterprise infrastructure, and regulated settings.
  • ITIL, PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile certification is required/preferred as stated in the source.
  • Demonstrated experience in project delivery, stakeholder coordination, leadership, and budget oversight.

Additional information

This role is based in Listowel, County Kerry, Ireland and is on-site. It is a permanent full-time opportunity.
