As the Director of Business Development for Asia and the Middle East, you will be instrumental in propelling Vopak's strategic growth ambitions, shaping the company’s future, while advancing your career.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and strategically target new markets, customer segments, and growth opportunities aligned with Vopak’s objectives.
- Analyze market trends and evolving conditions to develop strategies benefiting from these changes, providing actionable business development guidance to management.
- Create and effectively communicate investment-driven growth opportunities.
- Transform complex market findings into practical recommendations to identify and capture growth and improvement possibilities.
- Serve as the main liaison between customers and internal teams to ensure alignment of goals.
- Coordinate cross-departmental collaboration among commercial, operational, financial, legal, and technical teams to support project execution.
- Manage and deliver assigned projects adhering to Vopak’s policies and standards.
- Lead mergers and acquisitions (M&A) initiatives for areas and markets under your responsibility.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in technical/engineering or business/economics disciplines; MBA is advantageous.
- At least 10 to 12 years of experience in commercial and business development roles within the petroleum, petrochemical, or related sectors.
- Proven track record engaging with international B2B customers in these industries.
- Comprehensive understanding of local regulatory and market conditions relevant to petroleum and petrochemicals.
- Strong grasp of financial principles and models relevant to business decisions.
- Excellent negotiation, influence, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.
- Robust leadership, project management, and autonomous business development capabilities.
