Role overview
The county hospital in Emmendingen is looking for a social work professional to join its social services department. The institution is run by the district of Emmendingen and offers a broad medical range across six main departments: internal medicine with stroke care, orthopedics and trauma surgery, general and visceral surgery, gynecology and obstetrics, anesthesia and intensive care medicine, and radiology, plus an affiliated urology department. Around 800 employees care for approximately 12,000 inpatients and 20,000 outpatients each year in a hospital providing standard and regular care with 263 beds.
Employment details
The role starts as soon as possible and is based in the hospital social service. It is offered as a permanent position with a 75% part-time workload.
Responsibilities
- Manage discharge planning for patients.
- Coordinate follow-up care for patients after inpatient or outpatient treatment in line with applicable social law requirements.
- Provide psychosocial support to patients and their families.
Requirements
- Completed degree in Social Work.
- Previous experience in hospital social work is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of social welfare legislation and related regulations.
- Patient-focused approach and a friendly, open manner.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Flexibility, initiative, and strong teamwork skills.
- High interpersonal competence, team spirit, and a service-oriented mindset.
