Job description

About the Company

CultureFly is a creative, pop-culture-driven company that designs original products for both dedicated fans and casual enthusiasts. Its work spans collectibles, apparel, and lifestyle products that turn fandom into a shared way of living and connecting. The company is also known for subscription boxes like the Pusheen Box, The Nick Box, Star Wars Galaxy Box, and others. CultureFly promotes individuality, teamwork, and a collaborative mindset in a lively, fast-moving environment where fresh ideas are welcomed.

If you love pop culture, marathon the latest streaming shows, or proudly display shelves full of collectible vinyl figures, this could be a strong fit. The company is looking to add to its Toy & Collectibles team as the portfolio continues to grow.

Role Overview

CultureFly is hiring a highly organized and detail-focused Development Coordinator to support the creation, sampling, and production of new toy and collectible products. This position bridges creative development and manufacturing execution, working closely with internal stakeholders and factory partners overseas, mainly in China, to help projects stay on track, within budget, and aligned with quality standards.

This role is well suited to someone who can juggle several priorities at once, turn creative ideas into products that can actually be manufactured, and communicate clearly across different time zones.

What You’ll Do

  • Oversee the full development cycle for new toy and collectible ideas, from initial concept through sample approval.
  • Handle sample requests, revisions, sign-offs, and scheduling across multiple product types.
  • Keep track of changes to samples, materials, colors, finishes, and packaging throughout development.
  • Make sure product development stays true to design intent while also meeting safety requirements and cost goals.
  • Assess sample quality and functionality against the intended design and overall execution.
  • Act as the main contact for overseas factories on assigned projects until they move into open order status.
  • Maintain a tight timeline from concept approval through the sampling stage.
  • Share clear development briefs, deadlines, and expectations with factory partners.
  • Follow up consistently so factories remain aligned with schedule and deliverables.
  • Review factory feedback, surface risks, and suggest practical solutions to keep work progressing.
  • Monitor key milestones and flag issues early.
  • Partner with internal teams and factories to resolve potential delays.
  • Coordinate approvals across design, brand, and leadership teams.

Requirements

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in production coordination, product development, or sourcing, ideally in toys, collectibles, consumer goods, or hardgoods.
  • Prior experience working with overseas factories, particularly in China.
  • Strong understanding of how product development and sampling processes work.
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through and the ability to handle several projects at the same time.
  • Professional communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Comfort working across time zones and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Working knowledge of project tracking tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Airtable, or similar platforms.
  • A positive, can-do mindset.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.

Compensation

The annual salary range for this position is $60,000 to $75,000, depending on experience.
