About the Company
GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) is a well-established process engineering consulting and contracting business focused on delivering high-quality engineering design and construction solutions for the mining and mineral processing sector. The company combines the stability of a large ASX-listed organisation with the close-knit culture and personal feel of a family-run business.
GRES has a strong project pipeline and a growing workload across multiple areas of the business. Its culture is built on teamwork, trust, diversity, professional development, and giving people the autonomy to deliver measurable results. Team members are trusted contributors who work across the full project lifecycle and are given early opportunities to stretch and grow with direct mentorship.
The Opportunity
Multiple experienced Designers are required across Civil (Concrete), Piping, and Mechanical disciplines to join the Head Office in Ascot, Western Australia, and report to the Drawing Office Manager. The role involves supporting a range of projects across commodities such as gold, copper, and iron ore, with site visits undertaken as needed depending on project demands.
Key Duties
- Prepare hard copy and digital CAD drawings that meet client specifications, GRES standards, and accepted industry practices.
- Present technical information clearly and accurately through drawings for engineering teams.
- Organise and manage workload so tasks are completed in a structured way and within project timelines.
- Maintain a consistently high standard of accuracy and quality in all design documentation.
- Prepare and review design documentation against schedules and deliverables.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate brings substantial drafting experience using discipline-specific software such as Solid Edge, AutoCAD, Tekla, and Civil 3D. A minimum of 10 years’ design experience is required, along with broad exposure to 3D CAD environments and modelling processes. Strong problem-solving ability in a design setting, plus excellent communication, planning, and time management skills, are essential.
A Certificate or Diploma in Design or Engineering is considered an advantage. Experience working on mineral processing plants and bulk materials handling projects will be highly regarded. Applicants must also have full and unrestricted Australian work rights.
What’s on Offer
- Competitive pay, processed on a weekly cycle.
- Employee Assistance Program and wellbeing support available at no cost for the whole family.
- A cooperative and encouraging team environment, with the tools needed to do the job well.
- 24 weeks of paid parental leave for primary caregivers.
- A friendly workplace culture that supports staff and values contribution.
