Job description
Role overview
Logitech is looking for a Design for Sustainability Specialist to help shape hardware products that deliver strong performance while reducing environmental impact. This role sits within a team focused on low-carbon design and lifecycle optimisation, and it works across product development to support more responsible decisions from concept through end of life.
Work location and model
The position is based in Cork, Ireland. The working arrangement is hybrid, with 2–3 days per week in the office. The posting also notes an on-site presence in Cork.
What you will do
You will lead sustainable design thinking across new product introductions and existing products, working to ensure sustainability opportunities are fully captured. A major part of the role is partnering early with cross-functional teams so that product architecture supports lower carbon outcomes.
You will also look for practical ways to cut product emissions, extend product life, and improve material recovery when products reach end of life. Alongside this, you will help create technical standards and design guidance that make lifecycle-aware development easier across the business.
The role includes researching sustainable design topics and turning those findings into useful insights for product teams. You will help build data-led tools that measure, visualise, and communicate carbon footprint and circular design performance. In addition, you will carry out detailed technical analysis of hardware and mentor colleagues across functions so sustainability becomes a shared responsibility.
Key qualifications
This role calls for at least 5 years of experience in technical product development, along with a solid understanding of the full hardware lifecycle. You should have strong knowledge of mechanical, materials, and electronics design, especially where these areas affect sustainability outcomes.
Experience with lifecycle thinking and sustainable design principles is important, including the ability to optimise for carbon reduction and circular design. Practical exposure to Life Cycle Assessment methods is a strong advantage.
You should be comfortable applying systems thinking, using 3D CAD tools such as Creo, and working with data visualisation tools. The role also requires the ability to explain complex technical performance data in a way that different stakeholders can act on.
To succeed here, you should have a track record of driving results in multi-disciplinary teams, leading cross-functional work, and thriving in a fast-moving environment. A proactive, curious, self-starting mindset is expected.
Education
A degree in Industrial Design, CMF Design, UX Design, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another related technical or scientific discipline is preferred. Equivalent hands-on industry experience in a relevant field will also be considered.
Culture and benefits
Logitech says it values collaboration, inclusion, diversity, and a balanced approach to work. The company highlights flexible working arrangements and offers comprehensive benefits that vary by location. It also notes support for physical, financial, emotional, intellectual, and social wellbeing.
Equal opportunity and support
All qualified applicants are considered without discrimination based on race, sex, age, colour, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability. If you need an accommodation during the application process or cannot access the online system, you can contact the company for assistance by phone at +1-510-713-4866.
Who should apply
This opportunity is suited to candidates who combine product development experience with sustainability-driven thinking, especially those who want to influence hardware design at scale and work closely with engineering, design, sustainability, and marketing teams.
