About the Role
Join Parsons as a Design Coordination Lead in Qatar, contributing to a prestigious luxury hospitality and entertainment project. This role involves leading the multidisciplinary design coordination process for an innovative development featuring immersive entertainment, top-tier hospitality, premium retail, and varied leisure attractions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage design coordination activities across all project phases: design development, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover.
- Oversee coordination between Lead Architect, Lead Design Consultant, Architect of Record, specialist consultants, themed entertainment designers, ride vendors, show system experts, and Design & Build Contractor.
- Manage integration of architectural, structural, civil, MEP, landscape, utilities, themed attraction systems, ride and show systems, and other specialist disciplines.
- Organize and facilitate design workshops, technical reviews, interface meetings, and design resolution sessions involving all project stakeholders.
- Monitor and ensure design deliverables meet the approved schedule, addressing issues affecting cost, timeline, constructability, quality, or operational goals.
- Review multidisciplinary design submissions for completeness, coordination, constructability, maintainability, and adherence to client requirements and regulations.
- Coordinate review and resolution of RFIs, technical queries, design clarifications, shop drawings, and changes.
- Engage in value engineering and design optimization, maintaining design intent, guest experience, operational functionality, and project objectives.
- Collaborate with operators, attraction vendors, utility providers, authorities, and third parties to coordinate design interfaces.
- Track design changes and assess their impact on budget, schedule, quality, procurement, construction sequencing, and operational readiness; communicate accordingly.
- Partner with BIM Manager to facilitate multidisciplinary model coordination, clash detection, and design integration.
- Maintain design coordination registers, interface logs, action trackers, and technical documentation within electronic document management systems.
- Support construction teams with timely design responses, troubleshooting, and facilitating the transition from design through commissioning.
- Encourage collaborative interactions among all design stakeholders to enable effective decisions and successful project outcomes.
Candidate Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Professional registration or certifications are advantageous.
- At least 10 years’ experience in multidisciplinary design coordination, management, or technical coordination related to large hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, or destination projects.
- Experience in coordinating complex Design & Build projects with multiple design disciplines and specialized consultants.
- Demonstrated expertise working alongside themed entertainment designers, ride vendors, show system specialists for major entertainment or theme park projects.
- Familiarity with BIM-based design coordination and multidisciplinary design reviews.
- Strong knowledge of design development processes, construction documentation, authority approvals, and technical coordination during all project phases.
- GCC region experience is highly desirable.

- Expertise in Design & Build delivery, constructability reviews, value engineering, and managing design changes.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, including architects, designers, consultants, contractors, operators, utilities, and authorities.
- Advanced skills in BIM coordination, model integration, clash detection, and digital design workflows.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving aptitude to manage complex technical, design, and interface challenges under multidisciplinary and fast-paced conditions.
- Capability to evaluate complex technical documentation, drawings, specifications, and multidisciplinary deliverables.
- Well-developed organizational skills to handle multiple design streams concurrently while ensuring goal alignment, schedule adherence, budget control, quality standards, and operational requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently within large multidisciplinary programs promoting collaboration, technical excellence, and successful project delivery.
