About the Role
Parsons is seeking a skilled Assistant Project Manager to contribute to a prestigious luxury hospitality and entertainment project in Qatar. This role involves aiding in the provision of Project Management Consultancy services for a world-class destination featuring high-end hospitality, immersive entertainment, premium retail spaces, and diverse leisure facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Project Director and Deputy Project Director in the daily execution of PMC services.
- Facilitate coordination across all project phases including design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, handover, and the Defects Liability Period.
- Track project progress against timelines, milestones, and the Project Action Plan.
- Manage interfaces among stakeholders such as the Client, design and supervision consultants, contractors, specialist consultants, operators, utility services, and regulatory bodies.
- Support project controls encompassing schedule oversight, risk and issue management, action tracking, and change control.
- Organize and manage project meetings, workshops, and technical reviews with comprehensive documentation and follow-ups.
- Monitor design deliverables, approvals, procurement, construction status, and readiness for commissioning.
- Review project documentation including reports, dashboards, and correspondence prior to client submissions.
- Maintain comprehensive project records and documentation within the Electronic Document Management System.
- Collaborate with Supervision Consultant to oversee construction quality, Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards, and contractor compliance.
- Identify risks and interface issues impacting cost, schedule, quality, or operational objectives.
- Encourage effective communication and collaboration to ensure timely decisions among all project parties.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience in Project Management Consultancy, Construction Management, or large-scale multidisciplinary projects.
- Proven expertise in managing large hospitality, entertainment, mixed-use, destination, or resort projects.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary design and construction teams throughout all project stages.
- Strong competencies in project management, controls, stakeholder coordination, interface, risk, and change management.
- Familiarity with design management, procurement, construction processes, commissioning, handover, and Defects Liability management.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Capacity to handle multiple simultaneous workstreams and priorities in a dynamic program environment.
- Proficiency in project management and scheduling software, reporting tools, and electronic document management systems.
Preferred Attributes
- Possession of professional certifications such as PMP or equivalent qualifications.
- Experience with Design and Build contract delivery models.
- Background in major luxury hospitality, entertainment, or destination developments.
- Experience with document management platforms like Aconex.
- Prior work experience in Qatar or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
- Strong skills in facilitation, presentations, reporting, and stakeholder relations.
- Ability to identify and address issues proactively with practical solutions.
