Position Overview
3.1 Phillip Lim invites applications for the role of Assistant Designer to join their New York City office team. This position involves contributing to the creation of seasonal collections that reflect the brand's aesthetic and vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design process for seasonal collections consistent with brand identity.
- Contribute to research activities including visual inspiration and garment concepts.
- Develop and revise technical sketches and colorways using Adobe Illustrator.
- Create and keep current seasonal style boards and design presentations.
- Assist in the sourcing and development of fabrics, trims, and embellishments.
- Collaborate closely with senior designers to innovate seasonal swatches, prints, and decorative details.
- Coordinate with technical design and product teams to aid the product development cycle and provide administrative support to the design team.
Required Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related discipline.
- Between one to three years' experience designing women's fashion, with a preference for luxury or contemporary brands.
- Advanced skills in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong skills in sketching, technical drawing, and concept presentation.
- In-depth knowledge of garment construction, fit, fabric types, and premium materials.
- Excellent attention to detail coupled with organizational capabilities.
- Ability to juggle various projects and adhere to deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- A dedicated passion for high-end fashion, craftsmanship, and sophisticated design.
Additional Information
