Overview
Join Parsons as a Deputy Project Director supporting the Project Director in delivering Project Management Consultancy (PMC) services for an iconic luxury hospitality and entertainment development in Qatar. This state-of-the-art entertainment destination is anticipated to become a premier attraction, drawing millions annually through immersive experiences and a variety of entertainment options.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Director in managing overall PMC service delivery.
- Lead daily coordination and management of the Theme Park, Entertainment, Retail, and related development packages.
- Ensure seamless collaboration among multidisciplinary consultants, specialist ride vendors, themed entertainment designers, contractors, operators, and suppliers.
- Oversee package-level scheduling, reporting, interface management, risk assessment, and design harmonization.
- Track progress through all phases including design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness.
- Facilitate technical and constructability reviews along with design integration activities.
- Support stakeholder engagement and coordinate interfaces across all project components.
- Monitor contractor performance, proposing corrective measures when necessary.
- Manage project reporting tools, executive dashboards, and action tracking systems.
- Implement project governance procedures encompassing quality control, health, safety, environment (HSE), risk management, and document control.
- Assist with resolving technical, commercial, and operational issues.
- Represent and act for the Project Director during absences as delegated.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Theme Park Engineering, or related fields.
- Professional certification such as PMP preferred.
- At least 15 years’ experience in PMC, Programme or Project Management roles.
- Proven track record in delivering large-scale theme parks, entertainment venues, integrated resorts, or leisure complexes.
- Expertise managing multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
- Strong background in complex attractions, themed environments, or destination entertainment projects is highly advantageous.
- Experience working in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region is preferred.
Skills and Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of Project Management Consultancy delivery specific to theme parks, entertainment, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.
- Expert understanding of design coordination, interface management, construction sequencing, and readiness for operation.
- Extensive experience coordinating consultants, contractors, specialist attraction vendors, operators, and governmental authorities.
- Proficient in project controls including planning, procurement, commercial oversight, risk mitigation, and construction delivery.
- Ability to manage multiple work packages aligned with overall project goals, schedules, and budgets.
- Strong leadership and communication skills for effective stakeholder and multidisciplinary team engagement.
- Analytical thinker adept at solving technical, operational, and interface challenges proactively.
- Capable of functioning effectively within large program environments supporting end-to-end project delivery from design to handover.
