About the opportunity
Southport State High School is seeking a part-time Deputy Principal (Inclusion) to support the school team on Thursdays and Fridays.
In this role, you will take on leadership of the Inclusion Department and contribute to the coordination of daily supervision duties on a rotating basis.

About the Special Education Program
The Special Education Program at Southport State High School supports students from Years 7 to 12 with a wide range of learning needs through inclusive and individualised assistance.
Working with experienced colleagues, the program is designed to strengthen student independence, confidence, and academic achievement within a supportive and inclusive school environment.
Role details
This appointment is offered on a temporary part-time basis at 0.4 FTE, which equals 20 hours per fortnight.
Key duties
- Support the Principal in guiding the school community through the special education program or early childhood development program and help build a shared educational vision focused on strong learning outcomes for every student.
- Act on behalf of the Principal when needed.
- Carry out the deputy principal role in a manner that reflects strong values, ethics, and moral responsibility.
- Promote socially just practice as part of everyday school operations.
- Maintain high expectations for both student and staff performance.
