About the Role
We seek an experienced procurement specialist to serve as Deputy Manager - Procurement. This position focuses on managing procurement operations with attention to cost efficiency, quality assurance, and comprehensive vendor oversight. You will be responsible for driving strategic sourcing activities, maintaining compliance with procurement policies, and enhancing processes through automation initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Efficiently handle procurement requests ensuring adherence to organizational regulations.
- Promote procurement that balances cost-saving measures and quality standards for goods and services.
- Source and onboard service providers across India aligned with organizational requirements.
- Manage and update vendor databases, including vendor empanelment, performance rating, and periodic assessment.
- Prepare and deliver monthly procurement progress reports to relevant department heads.
- Identify procurement automation opportunities and implement corresponding solutions.
- Periodically evaluate procurement policies and recommend necessary adjustments.
- Review contracts carefully to ensure all consultancy agreements comply with legal standards.
- Work collaboratively with vendors to guarantee timely invoice submission and payment processing.
- Conduct comprehensive market research to enhance procurement strategies and reduce associated risks.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a graduate degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
- Have at least several years of procurement operations experience.
- Exhibit strong understanding of procurement processes, vendor management, strategic sourcing, and risk evaluation.
- Experience with automation in procurement as well as policy formulation is preferable.
Core Competencies
- Strong negotiation aptitude and ability to manage relationships effectively.
- Capable of assessing and controlling procurement-related risks.
- Familiarity with principles that ensure value-for-money in procurement decisions.
- Excellent analytical thinking, planning abilities, and effective time management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- High ethical standards, adaptable mindset, and capacity to work independently with minimal oversight.
- A strategic approach toward optimizing supply chain operations.
