Job description

About the Company

ReNew, founded in 2011, is among India’s prominent renewable energy businesses and has also built a strong global standing. It is listed on Nasdaq as RNW and works across utility-scale wind, solar, firm power, and distributed solar projects. Beyond power generation, the company is expanding into a broader decarbonization platform, with offerings in clean energy, green hydrogen, digital energy solutions, storage, and carbon markets. Its portfolio exceeds 13.4 GW including pipeline projects, spread across 150+ locations in 18 Indian states, contributing meaningfully to the country’s power capacity and emissions reduction. Over more than a decade, ReNew says it has created nearly 1.3 lakh jobs directly and indirectly and counts investors such as CPP Investments, Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Goldman Sachs, GEF SACEF, and JERA among its stakeholders.

Role Overview

The organization is hiring a Deputy Manager for Planning within Solar Asset Management. The position is based in Gurugram, Haryana, and calls for a BE/B.Tech background in Electrical Engineering. The role requires 8 to 10 years of total experience, including about 5 years of relevant experience in solar O&M.

Key Responsibilities

This role focuses on financial planning, operational coordination, and cross-functional support for solar assets. The incumbent will handle budget planning, monitoring, and control for the solar portfolio, support the business development team with O&M cost inputs, and work on cost reduction and revenue recovery initiatives. The position also includes supporting SAP PR workflows and coordinating with SCM to ensure purchase orders are released on time.

Additional responsibilities include coordinating insurance claims, supporting regulatory and compliance activities, and assisting with M&A, due diligence, and contract-related work. The role involves planning and managing special tools needed for testing and analysis of solar projects, handling SAP-MM and SAP-PM related requirements, and maintaining spares and inventory records along with material reporting.

The Deputy Manager will also work with Procurement, Finance, Legal, HR, Admin, and other teams on O&M-related matters, support vendor and statutory payments for site teams, participate in periodic SAM planning meetings, identify training needs, and arrange required training. The role further covers project purchases, vendor management, operations coordination, and support for customer and vendor billing.

Additional Information

The role is part of ReNew’s solar asset management function and is intended to support operational efficiency, compliance, and cost discipline across solar assets. The company’s broader mission is to provide clean, safe, affordable, and sustainable energy while contributing to India’s energy transition and climate-action goals.

Eligibility

Candidates with a B.Tech / B.E. degree in any specialization are eligible to apply, with a strong preference for Electrical Engineering backgrounds aligned to the role’s technical focus.
