Role Overview
The Deputy Manager, International Leisure, plays a crucial role in the tourism sector by leading teams focused on South Asia, Middle East, and long-haul markets. This position involves cultivating a robust sales pipeline, increasing visitor numbers to the island, and boosting revenue. Collaborating with team members, the role demands planning and executing successful co-marketing strategies with various trade partners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Unit Head in implementing strategies that drive visitor and revenue growth.
- Mentor and guide team members on market strategies, execution, performance tracking, budget adherence, forecasting, and optimizing business mix.
- Create and implement impactful sales initiatives to elevate Sentosa's profile as a premier destination.
- Establish and nurture strong communications and relationships with both internal teams and external partners for shared success.
- Prospect and engage new and existing accounts through direct contact, meetings, and site visits as needed to surpass visitor and revenue objectives.
- Expand and manage the account portfolio, handle incoming sales leads, and finalize deals across all Sentosa sales channels including the B2B platform.
- Represent Sentosa at trade shows, travel events, and related business functions.
- Organize and lead familiarization trips and site inspections for clients such as travel agents and event organizers.
- Conduct sales trips, roadshows, and trade exhibitions in target markets actively.
- Develop and deliver persuasive presentations about Sentosa’s offerings.
- Prepare comprehensive business documentation including proposals, trip reports, presentations, and contracts.
- Present findings and strategic proposals efficiently to senior leaders and large groups.
- Enhance product marketing initiatives to boost brand awareness and visibility.
- Collaborate with travel trade partners, wholesalers, agents, and media on cooperative marketing and promotions.
- Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to strengthen Sentosa’s market position.
- Develop and execute quarterly action plans informed by market data and long-term strategic goals.
- Leverage available systems to proactively manage and track client accounts.
- Deliver detailed market analysis reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
Candidate Profile
- Holds a degree in Sales, Marketing, or Business Administration.
- At least five years of relevant experience in tourism or travel sectors with a demonstrated record of sales success.
- Skilled in preparing leisure travel itineraries and handling group contract proposals.
- Strong organizational abilities coupled with consistent follow-up skills.
- Numerically proficient with advanced analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
- Ability to analyze business metrics and competitive landscapes effectively.
- Capable of working both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willingness to travel and work during weekends and public holidays when required.
- Displays a proactive, self-driven attitude with a focus on achieving results.
