Role Purpose

This role aims to provide comprehensive financial partnership across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Procurement functions, focusing on cost efficiency, productivity enhancement, inventory optimization, working capital improvement, value creation, and maintaining strong financial control and governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Track and analyze plant operations, manufacturing costs including materials, labor, overheads, and yield variations.
  • Drive initiatives oriented towards productivity improvement, waste reduction, and controlling costs.
  • Manage product costing, update standard costs, and evaluate profitability.
  • Offer insights on operational metrics and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Oversee financial management related to logistics, warehousing, and distribution expenses.
  • Implement strategies to optimize inventory and reduce slow-moving or obsolete stock.
  • Monitor inventory levels, working capital, and supply chain performance indicators.
  • Assess opportunities for network optimization and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to verify and track cost-saving initiatives.
  • Support sourcing decisions by conducting cost analyses and evaluating business cases.
  • Keep track of commodity price trends and analyze their financial impacts.
  • Set up processes to ensure realization of procurement savings.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and monthly performance review cycles.
  • Deliver variance analysis, financial reports, and actionable recommendations.
  • Create dashboards and KPIs to track operational outcomes.
  • Assist in scenario planning and supporting strategic decisions.
  • Evaluate capital investment proposals, monitor spending, and measure financial returns.
  • Conduct post-investment assessments and manage ROI tracking.
  • Maintain rigorous governance over operational investment decisions.
  • Ensure strong internal controls over inventory, procurement, and manufacturing processes.
  • Support audit activities and compliance requirements.
  • Promote automation, enhance reporting mechanisms, and simplify financial processes.
  • Utilize ERP and analytics tools to boost operational visibility and aid decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
  • Overall 6-10 years of experience, with minimum 2-3 years in manufacturing units.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Procurement Finance, Plant Finance, or Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A).
  • In-depth understanding of costing, inventory control, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analytics.
  • Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to partner with business functions.
  • Preference given to candidates coming from reputed Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies.
