Position Summary

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) is responsible for delivering an outstanding guest experience by overseeing daily operations in both beverage service and reception departments. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the DGM leads a dynamic team, drives operational excellence, and implements strategies to boost revenue and maintain high quality and efficiency standards. Creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring exceptional service quality are core to this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the reception and beverage teams to ensure smooth coordination and exceptional service delivery at every guest interaction point.
  • Lead and nurture front-of-house and beverage staff by mentoring, training, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to design and execute operational plans, promotional efforts, and service upgrades that enhance guest satisfaction and business growth.
  • Handle financial aspects such as budgeting, cost management, and inventory oversight to optimize resources and meet fiscal goals.
  • Guarantee guests receive professional, warm welcomes and premium beverage service to create memorable experiences.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • At least three years of progressive leadership experience in hospitality, entertainment, or similar sectors with expertise in managing operations, finances, and diverse teams.
  • Proven leadership abilities in fast-paced hospitality settings, including cross-functional team management.
  • Strong operational management skills with a focus on enhancing processes and service quality in reception and beverage operations.
  • Financial proficiency, especially in budgeting, cost control, and inventory management aligning with organizational targets.
  • Customer-focused mindset committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with staff, vendors, and senior management.
  • In-depth knowledge of hospitality industry trends, along with relevant certifications or formal training.
  • Aptitude for problem-solving and adaptability in a fast-changing environment.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution to drive organizational growth and operational efficiency.

Physical Requirements

Team members must be capable of performing venue duties, including frequent short-term sitting, communication via video calls and phone, constant hearing and object manipulation, lifting up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally, frequent twisting, reaching, grasping, and working in varying temperature conditions. Standing and walking for long durations, regular hand washing and sanitation, and use of food prep tools such as knives and slicing equipment are also required. Ability to interact with guests and coworkers and operate handheld and desktop devices is essential.
