Deputy Chief People Officer

Overview

We are excited to invite applications for the position of Deputy Chief People Officer at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based in Basingstoke, England. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this role is central to developing and executing our People Strategy to ensure a skilled, sustainable, engaged, and high-performing workforce delivering exceptional patient care. You will have strategic oversight of key workforce services including HR Business Partnering, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Retention, Workforce Planning, Governance, and Temporary Staffing.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist and support the Chief People Officer in delivering the Trust's People Strategy and workforce priorities.
• Lead strategic management of workforce services such as HR Business Partnering, Employee Relations, Recruitment, Retention, Workforce Planning, and Governance.
• Drive the creation and implementation of workforce strategies that facilitate high-quality patient care, sustainability, and organizational success.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to Executive Directors, clinical leaders, and senior management on complex workforce and organizational development issues.
• Oversee workforce transformation, service redesign, and organizational change initiatives.
• Ensure effective workforce planning, talent management, succession planning, and employee deployment.
• Forge strong relationships with staff-side representatives, system partners, and external stakeholders.
• Manage workforce governance, statutory reporting, budget oversight, contracts, and commissioned services.
• Represent and deputise for the Chief People Officer at board, system, and external meetings.
• Champion a culture that is inclusive, compassionate, and performance-driven to empower colleagues.
