Job description
About the Role
This position is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, dependable financial reporting, and on-time completion of audit and taxation obligations. The role spans direct and indirect tax work, preparation of financial statements under Ind AS, support for statutory and internal audits, oversight of accounts payable, and contribution to budgeting and reporting activities.
Statutory Compliance and Taxation
- Manage the tax audit cycle by arranging the required data, schedules, and reconciliations, and by helping ensure completion within deadlines.
- Prepare and file annual income tax returns within the prescribed timeline.
- Handle GST compliance, including preparation and filing of monthly returns such as GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B.
- Support GST audits by building reconciliations and responding to auditor queries.
- Ensure GST payments are made on time and assist in resolving GST-related notices.
- Oversee TDS and TCS compliance, including timely deduction, deposit, and quarterly return filing.
- Respond to income tax notices, if any, and support related compliance actions.
Audit Support
- Prepare schedules, reports, and supporting information required for limited review and annual statutory audit.
- Work closely with statutory auditors and follow up to close audit observations promptly.
- Prepare annual financial statements in line with Ind AS and Schedule III requirements.
- Support internal audit activity by sharing accurate data and documentation on time.
- Track audit recommendations and help strengthen internal control processes.
- Maintain documentation and support quarterly audit of related party transactions.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders for compliance and audit requirements.
Financial Management and Reporting
- Oversee accounts payable operations, ensuring bills are processed accurately and vendors are paid on time.
- Monitor bill uploading activities and ensure costs are assigned correctly to the relevant lines of business.
- Track project progress and ensure assets are capitalized at the appropriate stage of completion.
- Carry out periodic physical checks and tagging of fixed assets, and reconcile any differences found.
- Upload financial information into HFM within reporting timelines.
- Prepare board presentations that summarize financial performance and important business developments.
- Support the annual budgeting exercise, including allocations to LOBs and coordination with different departments.
- Compile and submit documentation required for borrowings from HDFC Bank and HPFS for working capital and term loans.
Employee Claims and Additional Responsibilities
- Review employee travel and allowance claims for accuracy and policy adherence.
- Ensure claims are approved and settled within the expected timeline.
- Take on other assignments, special projects, or tasks as directed by management.
Eligibility
Applicants should hold a B.Com degree with a focus on Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
Additional Information
Location: Thane, India.
Compensation: INR 10,00,000 to INR 12,00,000 per year.
