Position Overview
We are currently inviting applications for a committed Dental Assistant to join our Wānaka practice. This role is essential in delivering excellent dental care and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients visiting our clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide chairside support to dentists during procedures by preparing treatment areas and sterilizing equipment
- Maintain precise patient records using dental practice management software
- Adhere strictly to infection control measures, ensuring all instruments and workspaces are hygienic and organized
- Welcome and assist patients, assuring their comfort and clear communication throughout their visit
- Advise patients on pre- and post-treatment care instructions
- Manage dental supplies by restocking and keeping inventory levels sufficient
- Support administrative duties, including appointment scheduling and billing tasks when necessary
Work Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 8:15 AM – 5:15 PM
- Friday: 8:15 AM – 4:00 PM
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous dental assistant experience preferred, but not mandatory
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with patients and team members
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities concurrently
- Meticulous attention to protocols and detail
- Familiarity with dental practice management software is advantageous
- Good understanding of dental terminology, treatments, and equipment
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Dedication to high-quality patient care and customer service
