Role Summary

The Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry supports the pastry section by ensuring high-quality preparation, smooth section operations, and consistent adherence to brand and hotel standards. The role also involves assisting senior chefs, maintaining hygiene and equipment standards, and helping train and guide kitchen associates.

Guest Satisfaction

• Delivers service in a courteous, polished, and professional manner at all times.
• Handles questions and complaints from guests and associates respectfully and efficiently, ensuring issues are resolved properly.
• Maintains positive working relationships with guests and colleagues.

Operations

• Sets up and organises the assigned kitchen section to improve speed and productivity.
• Prepares dishes from the section in line with standard recipes and quality expectations.
• Supports the Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, and Chef de Cuisine in maintaining culinary standards in accordance with hotel policies and operating procedures.
• Controls food and operational costs by minimising waste.
• Trains culinary associates in the skills needed to carry out their duties effectively.
• Works across different kitchen sections, including the associate kitchen, whenever required by senior chefs.
• Ensures kitchen sanitation and cleanliness standards are consistently maintained.
• Builds familiarity across all kitchen sections to support flexible staffing.
• Maintains kitchen and operating equipment in good condition and reduces breakage.
• Manages food storage carefully, including stock rotation and labelling, and reports waste or spoilage to the appropriate senior chef.

Talent & Culture

• Helps monitor punctuality, grooming, uniform compliance, and personal hygiene among kitchen associates.
• Supports the training of associates so they can perform their duties efficiently.
• Supervises team members to ensure departmental standards and service methods are followed.
• Contributes to the growth of kitchen associates through coaching, training, and mentoring.
• Promotes and reinforces Rosewood’s values and culture traits.
• Ensures associates understand and follow workplace rules and regulations.
• Ensures compliance with hotel, company, and local safety, fire, hazard, and security requirements.
