Job description
Role Overview
Join a cutting-edge vaccines manufacturing facility in Dundalk during an exciting phase of progression from initial start-up to full commercial production. As a senior expert, you will take comprehensive responsibility for the DeltaV control system, influencing how automation is adopted, managed, and expanded throughout the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the DeltaV System Owner with full accountability for governance, oversight, and system performance.
- Lead initiatives on code review, system enhancements, and continuous process improvement within control systems.
- Contribute to pivotal site projects including technology transfer and manufacturing readiness.
- Manage the transition from outdated systems to a state-of-the-art DeltaV platform.
- Provide expert technical guidance in automation across DeltaV and other control platforms.
- Take ownership of complex investigations, deviations, and resolve automation-related issues.
- Function as a technical leader in cross-departmental and hierarchical meetings, influencing operational strategies.
- Develop and enhance site capabilities by training teams with limited DeltaV exposure.
- Collaborate closely with teams from operations, engineering, quality, and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Ensure compliance, reliability, and readiness for inspections of all systems.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Extensive hands-on experience with DeltaV in a regulated manufacturing context.
- Strong background in ownership, governance, and code review of automation systems.
- Experience supporting technology transfer processes and environments undergoing startup or change.
- Proven capability to lead and troubleshoot complex technical investigations.
- In-depth knowledge of control systems with expertise in batch automation standards (S88/S95).
- Ability to influence and work effectively with senior stakeholders and matrix teams.
- Desirable experience in managing multiple automation platforms, including PLC systems.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational capabilities.
Technical Skills
- Automation and Emerson DeltaV system expertise.
- GMP operations adherence.
- Leadership and operational excellence practices.
- Operational reviews and problem management.
- System migration execution.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma (preferred).
