Overview

The Delivery Specialist role involves transporting purchased goods to customers within a designated area, ensuring adherence to delivery schedules and quality benchmarks. This position emphasizes delivering an exceptional customer experience by establishing trust, offering knowledgeable guidance, ensuring product safety during transport, and managing returns or issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent and dependable attendance.
• Complete deliveries punctually, often exceeding scheduled times.
• Operate and upkeep a clean, organized delivery vehicle and related equipment, including trailers when necessary.
• Safely and efficiently load, unload, and arrange merchandise.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness.
• Keep precise logs of deliveries and any encountered issues.
• Engage with customers to provide updates and resolve concerns during deliveries.
• Offer outstanding customer service fostering positive experiences.
• Collaborate with sales teams and store staff to address customer needs.
• Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure secure transportation.
• Adhere to traffic laws and company policies, promoting safe driving practices.
• Manage returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as required.

Qualifications

• While prior truck delivering experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory.
• Preferred experience using hand trucks, dollies, pallet jacks, and forklifts.
• Applicants must be at least 21 years old with a minimum of 3 years driving experience, meeting Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) standards.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• DOT Medical Card is required as applicable.

• Capability to push or pull up to 2,000 pounds using proper handling equipment.

• Competence in loading and unloading delivery trucks safely.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook and Calendar applications.

• Excellent written and verbal communication for effective interaction with team members and customers.
• Basic numeracy and literacy to complete required documentation.
• Proficiency using GPS devices and maps for navigation.
• Willingness to complete all necessary training successfully.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

• Routine interaction near mechanical equipment.
• Deliveries conducted in diverse weather and road conditions.
• Moderate noise level typical in the work area.
• Physical activities include sitting, standing (stationary), walking, kneeling, stooping, bending, driving, reaching overhead, and lifting over 50 pounds.
