Role overview

This position is focused on preparing fresh hot and cold deli items to a high standard while keeping customer satisfaction at the centre of everything you do.

What the role involves

• Preparing customer orders across fresh food counters, including sandwiches, rolls, hot dishes, and sliced meats while following store portion guidelines.
• Cooking, assembling, and presenting deli food throughout the day.
• Keeping all fresh food displays and counters looking clean, well-stocked, and maintained to a consistently high standard.
• Supporting customers with suggestions, product knowledge, recipes, and tailored recommendations in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Handling customer questions and concerns promptly, professionally, and according to store procedures.
• Working in line with Centra’s brand values: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Based.

What we are looking for

• Prior experience in customer service is beneficial.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others in a busy, high-pressure environment.
• Comfort with switching between tasks and managing several priorities at once.
• Genuine enthusiasm for food and the ability to engage and inspire shoppers.
• HACCP training is preferred, though it is not essential.
