Deli Assistant

Role overview

This full-time deli role is based in Cabinteely, Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown, Ireland. The main focus of the position is to prepare high-quality hot and cold deli items while placing customer satisfaction at the centre of every shift.

What the role involves

• Represent the Centra brand values in day-to-day work: Proud, Energetic, Imaginative, and Community-Based.
• Prepare fresh food orders across the deli and related fresh food areas, including sandwiches, rolls, hot food portions, and sliced meats, while following store portion controls.
• Cook, assemble, and present food throughout the day.
• Keep all fresh food counters looking excellent and maintained to a consistently high standard.
• Share food knowledge, recipe ideas, and product suggestions with customers to support a positive shopping experience.
• Handle customer questions and requests promptly, professionally, and according to store procedures.

Candidate profile

• HACCP training is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong verbal communication skills are important.
• Prior experience in customer service is an advantage.
• You should be comfortable working in a busy, pressurised setting and able to juggle multiple tasks at once.
• A genuine interest in food and the ability to encourage and inspire customers is valued.
