We support (municipal) business clients from various sectors with full consulting and execution services to shape the transition of energy, heat, and mobility systems.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Scientist focused on the Energiewende for our energy specialist team at con|energy consult gmbh.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and model tailored solutions for municipal heat and infrastructure planning.
• Contribute to the enhancement of our cloud-based software platform Simergy by aiding in its design and coding.
• Take ownership of developing simulation models and ensure their success.
• Handle large datasets effectively by analyzing, processing, and visualizing data to provide precise answers to current issues.
• Create and refine innovative ETL processes to optimize data workflows.
• Present and document your results clearly and engagingly.
• Engage collaboratively with project teams, stakeholders, and clients through effective communication internally and externally.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Energy Economics, or Energy Technology.
• Professional experience within the energy industry.
• Strong numerical and algorithmic aptitude demonstrated by analytical and conceptual thinking.
• Proven ability and enthusiasm for modeling complex techno-economic systems.
• Proficiency in at least one popular programming language such as Python or SQL.
• Basic experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL) and cloud technologies like AWS or Docker.
• Knowledge or experience working with geospatial data and tools such as QGIS is advantageous.
• Comfortable with common office software applications.
• Team player who values mutual support and cooperation.
• Motivated and proactive in tackling tasks with commitment and enthusiasm.
• Excellent written and spoken German skills.
• Good command of English, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to travel regularly for work.
