Job description

Role Overview

We are seeking a Data Privacy Paralegal on a contract basis at a multinational technology leader. This position offers an excellent chance for legal professionals interested in data privacy to engage directly with GDPR compliance in a dynamic international setting.

Contract Details

This is a 6-month initial contract position with a strong likelihood of extension up to 12 months or longer. The start date is immediate.

Responsibilities

  • Handle and respond to GDPR data subject rights requests, including the right to erasure (also known as the 'right to be forgotten').
  • Assist in the execution of daily data privacy and GDPR compliance tasks.
  • Collaborate closely with the Data Protection Officer, the privacy team, and various internal departments to ensure privacy matters are managed promptly and in compliance with regulations.
  • Keep detailed records and documentation for all privacy requests and compliance activities.
  • Provide support for miscellaneous data privacy and regulatory issues as needed.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience in or familiarity with data privacy laws or GDPR-related work.
  • Excellent organizational abilities, capable of juggling multiple tasks and fostering cooperation among internal teams.
  • Holding or pursuing IAPP certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM, or CIPT is preferred.
