Project Overview
This position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, reporting to the Survey Monitoring Manager. The Data Manager plays a crucial role in handling, verifying, analyzing, and reporting survey and structural monitoring data for the Riyadh Metro project. The role ensures the reliability, precision, traceability, and punctual delivery of monitoring data to aid engineering decisions, risk mitigation, and adherence to project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all survey and monitoring databases along with data repositories.
- Gather, organize, verify, and store observations from both manual and automated monitoring systems.
- Ensure the completeness, consistency, and accuracy of monitoring data records.
- Maintain robust backup and disaster recovery protocols for project data.
- Analyze data related to settlement, deformation, displacement, vibration, convergence, and structural movements.
- Track trends in relation to project thresholds including alert, alarm, and action levels.
- Detect any irregularities and promptly alert the Monitoring Manager about significant issues.
- Assist in investigating unusual monitoring events or movements.
- Generate daily, weekly, monthly, and special monitoring reports.
- Create dashboards, graphical representations, and trend analyses to visualize data.
- Summarize movements and produce key performance indicator reports.
- Deliver reporting materials to clients, consultants, and project leadership teams.
- Administer various monitoring software platforms such as Leica GeoMoS, Trimble 4D Control, Power BI, SQL databases, and GIS applications.
- Monitor data transmission and the performance of automated monitoring systems.
- Collaborate with IT teams for database and server support.
- Ensure high quality of data through validation and quality control measures.
- Maintain audit trails and ensure project compliance for all monitoring records.
- Fulfill contractual obligations regarding data reporting.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field.
- At least 5 years’ experience managing survey and monitoring data.
- Preferably experienced with metro, railway, tunneling, or infrastructure projects.
- Proficient with automated monitoring systems and handling extensive datasets.
Technical Expertise
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Proficiency in Power BI and dashboard creation.
- Experience managing SQL databases.
- Familiarity with Leica GeoMoS or Trimble 4D Control systems.
- Knowledge of GIS software applications.
- Capability in data analysis and statistical reporting.
- Strong skills in report writing and presentation.
