Position Overview
This role supports patients and healthcare partners by providing accurate information and resolving billing inquiries related to insurance benefits. Serving as a central contact, the representative assists individuals in understanding insurance and revenue cycle procedures with clarity and professionalism, all within a remote work setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to inbound calls from patients, attorneys, insurance providers, and other stakeholders regarding billing and insurance verification issues.
- Communicate revenue cycle processes, insurance details, and account results clearly while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Utilize knowledge of healthcare insurance terminology, payer requirements, and relevant regulations to ensure accurate information is given.
- Research and resolve issues, identifying appropriate solutions or escalating when necessary.
- Adhere to established customer service policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Effectively manage multiple tasks, maintaining productivity, accuracy, and service quality.
- Support additional departmental and operational functions as assigned.
Candidate Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Minimum one year of experience in healthcare services, insurance support, or call center environment preferred, or equivalent education and experience mix.
- Familiarity with medical insurance terminology and healthcare revenue cycle processes.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to department procedures, systems, and customer service expectations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills along with excellent listening capabilities.
- Ability to prioritize various tasks and consistently meet productivity and quality targets.
- Dependable, team-oriented professional with strong interpersonal skills.
- Capable of working independently in a remote setup while upholding communication and accountability standards.
- Understanding and applying payer rules, regulations, and client-specific details effectively.
