About the Role
DSV, a leading global transport and logistics network, is expanding and seeking dedicated talent to join their team in Cork, Ireland as a Customer Service Specialist. This full-time position involves working onsite 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a competitive salary of €42,000 annually. The role focuses on ensuring smooth shipment operations by acting as the crucial link between customers, carriers, and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver excellent customer service with clear and proactive communication.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, carriers, and internal teams.
- Serve as the primary contact point between customers and operations.
- Own shipment issues and resolve them promptly.
- Manage escalation processes between customers and carriers effectively.
- Handle urgent and out-of-hours problems professionally when required.
- Arrange booking of shipments and coordinate collections.
- Monitor shipment status to ensure transparency and full visibility.
- Respond efficiently to daily freight inquiries.
- Support logistics aspects of new product launches.
- Review freight invoices and rectify any discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate reporting and provide regular operational updates.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process enhancements.
- Keep standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions current.
- Comply with training requirements and regulatory standards.
- Participate actively in operational meetings and support alignment between different teams and leadership.
- Engage visibly with daily operations onsite.
Candidate Profile
- Professional experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or transport operations.
- Strong understanding of shipment processes across air, sea, or road transportation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Capable of maintaining composure and organization in fast-paced environments.
- Confident in issue resolution and decision-making.
- Meticulous attention to detail, especially regarding data and cost management.
- Proactive mindset with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving capabilities.
