Role Overview

This position is a remote contract role for 3–4 months. The content support representative will assist business and individual tax software users as well as practice clients. The job involves resolving moderate to complex questions through phone, chat, and email using product documentation, support knowledge bases, and internal systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to customer questions and issues by phone, email, and chat, including moderately complex system and content-related cases.
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and escalate cases when needed, while logging all interactions in the customer relationship system.
  • Track recurring issues and document the best resolution approach for future reference.
  • Learn additional products and systems through cross-training.
  • Support projects and contribute to process improvement efforts.
  • Prepare routine reports for management when requested.
  • Assist with product testing and review activities as needed.
  • Protect confidential product and customer information at all times.
  • Carry out other assigned responsibilities as required.

Schedule and Work Conditions

This role requires flexibility, including regularly scheduled evening hours. During peak periods, overtime may be required, including evenings and weekends, to help meet business goals.

Qualifications

Candidates should have an associate degree or two years of college-level study in a business-related area, or equivalent experience/knowledge in accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, or sales/CRM. A background in Business, Accounting, or Finance is preferred. Prior experience with CCH tax and accounting software, tax preparation, accounting, help desk, customer support, or SalesForce.com will be an advantage.

Skills and Knowledge

The role calls for understanding of tax, accounting, and audit principles, practices, and related laws or regulations. Strong computer and internet skills, including Microsoft Office, are needed. The ideal candidate should be highly service-oriented, communicate clearly in both spoken and written form, handle complaints calmly, manage multiple priorities, work well in a fast-paced team environment, and bring a strong work ethic and commitment to quality.

Travel and Workplace

Travel is expected to be less than 5% and limited to domestic trips. The work setting is a standard office environment, even though the role itself is remote.
