Role overview
As a Customer Service Assistant in the retail department, you will work from multiple shop locations and report to the Shop Manager. The role is centered on delivering a consistently excellent customer experience through a friendly, informed, and supportive approach. You will help keep the shop running smoothly, maintain high presentation standards, handle bet placements and payouts, and contribute to strong service throughout the day.
The position also includes responsibility for opening and closing the shop, and at times you may take charge of shop operations when management is unavailable. This role offers opportunities to take on more responsibility and grow within the business.
Key responsibilities
- Support the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager in the day-to-day running of the store.
- Take control of shop operations when the Shop Manager and Assistant Manager are absent.
- Handle opening and closing duties for the shop.
- Lead and support the shop team when required.
- Carry out cash handling processes accurately and responsibly.
- Accept and process bets correctly, including transactions through betting terminals and the in-shop EPOS system.
- Provide a welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful service to every customer.
- Represent the brand positively and guide customers toward digital and multi-channel offerings.
- Maintain high standards of shop appearance and presentation throughout the working day.
- Follow all safety, compliance, social responsibility, and operational procedures at all times.
- Stay calm under pressure and look for ways to improve your own performance and the shop experience.
- Work closely with colleagues and contribute positively to a team environment.
- Promote in-shop and online products and services to customers.
- Take advantage of training and on-the-job support to build skills and progress in the company.
