Job description

Role overview

As a Customer Experience Specialist at Tesla, you will be one of the key faces of the brand. Your work will shape the customer journey from the first showroom interaction through vehicle handover, creating a memorable, informative, and high-energy experience for prospective and current owners. The role is centered on representing Tesla’s mission to speed up the world’s shift to sustainable energy while delivering a premium customer experience.

This position is based in Wesley Chapel, FL and is onsite. You will help customers understand Tesla products, guide them through the purchase process, and make the delivery experience feel polished, confident, and exciting.

Key responsibilities

  • Welcome walk-in visitors quickly and personally so they feel acknowledged and comfortable from the start.
  • Hold meaningful conversations to learn about each guest’s background, interest in Tesla, and expected purchase timeline, then build a detailed customer profile.
  • Educate and excite guests by answering questions and tailoring product demonstrations, including demo drives and Full Self-Driving showcases to match their interests.
  • Lead vehicle delivery orientations that explain important features and benefits so new owners leave feeling prepared and enthusiastic.
  • Help maintain a healthy sales funnel by collecting guest details, booking test drives, and spotting high-intent prospects.
  • Deliver top-tier support to current and future owners at every stage of the experience.
  • Take on other duties as needed to support business operations.

Candidate profile

You should bring at least 1 year of experience in customer service and/or sales, along with a proven record of meeting or exceeding targets. A genuine interest in Tesla’s mission and awareness of EV industry developments and local incentives are important for success in this role.

The position also calls for the ability to explain both business topics and technical concepts clearly, strong reliability, and a collaborative mindset. You should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable communicating effectively in writing and speaking. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems is required. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is needed in a retail setting, and a valid driver’s license is mandatory.

Licensing notes

For certain states, the role requires a Motor Vehicle Salesperson License issued by the state DMV. This applies to roles located in CA, CO, HI, ID, MD, MS, NV, NC, PA, TN, UT, VA, and DC. Without this license, sales activities cannot be performed. Applicants should check eligibility with the DMV in their state of employment.

For roles in AZ, GA, HI, IA, IN, NC, NJ, NM, NY, OH, PA, VT, and WA, a notary license is preferred. If notary support becomes necessary for the position, Tesla will help with the licensing process.

Benefits

As a full-time employee, benefits begin on the first day of employment and include medical coverage with $0 payroll deduction options, family-building and fertility support, adoption and surrogacy benefits, dental and vision plans with $0 paycheck contribution options, HSA employer contributions with the high-deductible medical plan, healthcare and dependent care FSAs, a 401(k) with employer match, employee stock purchase plans, company-paid basic life and AD&D, disability insurance with a 90-day waiting period, an employee assistance program, sick and vacation time, paid holidays, back-up childcare, parenting support, voluntary insurance and legal benefits, wellness programs, commuter benefits, employee discounts, and access to a perks program.
