Job description
Role Overview
We are looking for reliable Customer Delivery Drivers at our Salford location. As the visible face of our company on the road, you will provide excellent service by delivering customer orders directly to their homes across various locations. This role involves varied duties that extend beyond driving, including customer interaction and maintaining company standards.
Work Schedule
- Sunday: 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Thursday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
Hours will be scheduled within these availability windows with at least three weeks notice. We offer a guaranteed minimum of 16 hours per week but can accommodate reduced hours as low as 12.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery van and trays.
- Keep the back yard clean, tidy, and free of rubbish, including picking up litter as noticed.
- Ensure trays are thoroughly washed as required.
- Load the van properly and conduct necessary vehicle checks.
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding order changes, substitutions, and offer refunds if needed.
- Handle deliveries and products with care and professionalism as if they were your own.
- Inform customers that substitutions incur no extra charges.
- Deliver orders during the designated customer time slots.
- Contact customers if arriving earlier than scheduled and notify the store if running over 30 minutes late.
Candidate Requirements
- Hold a full UK/EU/EEA driving license (manual or automatic) for at least one year with no more than three penalty points.
- Comply with Great Britain domestic driving regulations.
- Build positive relationships and team spirit with colleagues to enhance store performance.
- Provide warm, welcoming customer service while acknowledging and appreciating customers.
- Adapt quickly to customer needs and embrace changes within the store environment.
- Be energetic and motivated to exceed expectations while maintaining a suitable work-life balance.
- Share ideas with managers and peers to help improve store operations for customer benefit.
