Customer Delivery Driver - Abingdon Extra

About the Role

This role involves representing Tesco as a Customer Delivery Driver, interacting directly with customers at their homes. Beyond driving, it entails delivering excellent service with a friendly attitude and managing diverse daily tasks independently while having managerial support available when required.

Availability and Work Schedule

• Sunday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Monday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Wednesday: 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• Friday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Saturday: 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery van, trays, and work area to ensure customer's shopping arrives in excellent condition.
• Load the van securely and carry out all necessary safety checks to guarantee the vehicle is safe and ready for service.
• Communicate clearly and kindly with customers regarding any modifications, substitutions, or approaching product expirations, offering refunds if appropriate to maintain a smooth experience.
• Handle orders carefully to preserve quality and customer trust.
• Deliver orders promptly within scheduled time slots, providing warm and courteous service at customers’ doorsteps to make them feel valued.

Candidate Requirements

• Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to foster team spirit and deliver high-quality customer service.
• Friendly and approachable demeanor with both customers and team members.
• Adaptability to respond swiftly to evolving customer demands and operational changes both on the road and at the store.
• Possess a valid UK/EU/EEA driving license (full or automatic) held for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
