About the Role
DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Custom Clearance Broker in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. In this role, you will help manage customs and trade compliance activities so freight documentation moves smoothly through the appropriate customs authorities. You will also work with customers to explain customs regulations and support decisions that align with business goals, internal policies, and corporate guidelines.
What You’ll Do
- Help coordinate customs and trade compliance processes to support the timely, secure, and cost-efficient movement of imports, exports, shipments, materials, equipment, packages, and documents across borders.
- Handle customs brokerage tasks, including maintaining shipping records, preparing bills of lading, and carrying out calculations for duties, tariffs, currency conversions, weights, and volumes.
- Deliver customs-related import and export support for TBO and NTBO transports.
- Classify goods using details provided by customers.
- Check shipped items, shipping validity dates, and duties or tariffs at government offices.
- Collect, verify, and organize the documents needed for permits, licenses, and certificates required for customs clearance.
- Prepare daily shipment paperwork, customs declarations, and other required documents, including post-clearance updates in line with regulations and internal procedures.
- Receive, process, distribute, and file all necessary shipping documents.
- Carry out booking and booking optimization according to internal product-team guidelines.
- Issue customer invoices for services and review invoices and shipping papers to confirm compliance with federal rules.
- Coordinate with overseas offices to confirm shipment details.
- Liaise with customs authorities, shipping agents, and other external parties to verify customs requirements and finalize shipping costs and timelines.
- Spot recurring problems, recommend improvements to customs workflows, and help increase efficiency while controlling costs.
- Provide support, guidance, or training to less experienced team members when needed.
- Advise customers on legal and customs matters, including trade compliance for shipments to sanctioned countries.

- Influence others in the work area by clearly explaining facts, policies, and practices.
- Work mainly with colleagues within the same function.
- Develop working relationships and understand the needs and concerns of customers and key stakeholders.
- Handle task-related issues in a way that protects and maintains good working relationships.
Work Structure
- This is an individual contributor role with no direct people-management responsibility.
Education and Experience
- A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- More than 2 years of relevant experience is expected.
